About us
Complete Works Theatre Company (CWTC) develops, produces and performs classic and contemporary theatre for young people. From Shakespeare to Sophocles, Monkey Magic to Mulga Bill, the art of storytelling and fostering a love a language is what we do.

Established in 2000 by Andrew Blackman and Caroline Williams the company is an important creative component of the Victorian English and Arts secondary curriculum. The company is based at the Abbotsford Convent, where it develops and rehearses it's programs before heading out on the road to tour the state.

Mission Statement
CWTC is committed to promoting and enhancing the education and cultural development of young people by learning through the arts. The art of storytelling and fostering a love of language through theatre is what we do.

Vision
We build and strengthen creative partnerships with school communities and education organisations, local communities and other arts groups to ensure the arts is an integral part of young people's lives. By bringing great theatrical works to young people, we help them to think imaginatively, critically and laterally and provide opportunities to deepen understanding of societal values, relationships, and their own self and the big ideas of life.

Overall Goal

  • Support and Collaboration - Increase support from funding bodies and sponsors for the development of new works within the school program; strengthen and consolidate links with other arts organisations and bodies.

  • Intergity and Ethics - that we continue to maintian the higest integrity in all our dealings and that we are bound ethically to the values of honesty, openess, equality and equity.
  • Ensemble - Improve opportunities for arts practitioners to develop and present new works for both school and main-stage programs.
The performance and additional commentary really helped demystify an otherwise very complex text.
