YHYear 7-9

The Australian idiom is explored in this dynamic presentation of poetry and song. Couched in an historical narrative that moves from the transportation era to the present this collection of Australian voices express a variety of experiences both linguistically and culturally.

Poems easily lend themselves to a range of classroom exercises; forms include ballads, free and comic verse, spoken word and rap. Storytelling, the investigation of rhyme, rhythm and a broad range of poetic devices underpins the performance.

All performances are followed by a Q&A with the actors. Company members have broad knowledge of poetry and storytelling and can lead discussion on style and content.
