Paul Westbrook
5 in 5: Paul Westbrook, CWTC's Romeo. To formally introduce Paul, here's 5 questions in 5 minutes with the man himself.
Q. Nickname?
I have had many a nickname, none of which fall beneath an 18+ rating
Q. Why do you love what you do?
Q. What was your first experience of live theatre, and what continues to draw you to it?
One of my first experiences of seeing live theatre was a one-woman show of Animal Farm. I was captivated by the way the actress created a complete world and characters within fit using just her and a stage. I was also ecstatic with the proof in front of me that you could get paid to be openly weird and makes ridiculous noises in a public place - who would have thought?
Q. What’s your favourite book or movie of all time, and why did it speak to you so much?
I would love to say Harry Potter (obviously), but for a lesser known answer I would say 'Holes' by Louis Sachar. The beautiful storytelling and connection of things in the book that at first seemed unrelated was just magical. Also I challenge anyone not to want to find out why a group of boys dig a circular hole everyday in the desert.
Q. Who would play you in a movie of your life?
If I didn't get cast as the title role in a movie about my life, I think I would have to seriously reconsider my career choice. Or my agent's.
